Ayushmann is a mother of one daughter, named Varushka she stated: "As Unicef's Celebrity Advocate to end child violence I am convinced that violence and discrimination against girls is not acceptable and hinders our progress as a caring and developed society.

"Covid-19 has brought about the problems that girls face. With only a few mobiles or online, women have had to face limitations in their access to remote learning as well as having their nutritional, health and social needs addressed just like boys in their family.

"At simultaneously,, lockdowns to aid in Covid prevention have led to a rise in the frequency of violence based on gender. The most recent data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) confirms that the number of child marriages has been increasing by up to 50 percent in the course of the epidemic," claimed Ayushmann Khurrana.

Ayushmann declared during this International Day of the Girl Child the attention of everyone should be paid to the numerous issues and discriminations girls are faced with.

Ayushmann Khurrana has said: "Promote girls' empowerment and protect their rights as human beings. It is imperative to prioritise girls education, respect their rights in the same way as the rights of boys, and offer them the opportunities for livelihood and skills, and work with men and boys to challenge patriarchal attitudes."

Ayushmann is also highlighting his goals to be an EVAC advocate in India to inform people about the rights of children of girls.

Ayushmann Khurrana stated: "My aim is to create powerful discussions that can allow us to all recognize the issues girls have to face and overcome to this day and how we have the ability to play our part in making a difference. There are a few easy ways we all can change the world."

Ayushmann declared that the initial step is to make "ourselves more aware of own behavior, within our families".

He said: "Can we be aware of the nitty-gritty ways that girls are discriminated against in the home, for example, eating before their siblings, not being allowed for outdoor play, being denied or restricted access to mobile phones and internet, or different curfews for boys and girls are just a few examples that pop into your the mind. Eliminating these behaviors by one household at a changes how we view girls and how we treat their rights.

"Secondly since schools are beginning to open again it is essential for parents to take their children, which includes girls back to school and also ensure Covid procedures. Girls who complete school do not have the chance to get married early. Skills and e

ducation are key to giving girls the confidence to make decisions that determine their lives."

The actor explained that this results in more positive outcomes for children, boys and girls and creates a positive social setting that allows them to be more successful in achieving their full potential.

He stated: "A lack of value on girls' education contributes to a significant increase in child marriages, which in turn perpetuates the cycle of violence that runs through generations and poverty, as well as ill-health.

"Even even India has made great strides in reducing the prevalence of child marriage, one of every three children brides reside on the streets of India."

He said that the most important thing is that as parents, family members and colleagues "we have to engage with both men and boys in order to help promote gender-neutral behaviors and standards and stop the violence culture."
